Meet Stan!

Vice President and industry pioneer, Stan has been with The Deck Store since it’s inception in 2008. A lifelong member of the building material industry, his experience spans across multiple industries and genres, including: lumber mills, retail lumber yards, wholesale building material supply, and deck install and supply. A walking encyclopedia for outdoor lifestyle terminology, Stan harnesses his passion for product knowledge to come up with names, information and background about every decking material that has come across his path.

“The outdoor living industry is exciting, fast moving, constantly evolving and is embraced with passion by homeowners, builders, and suppliers alike – working within this is never boring, and offers constant challenges and opportunities to grow and rise to the top.”

One of the more hands-on executives around, Stan enjoys every opportunity to roll up his sleeves and help the Design team with difficult projects, and like Ben and Jerry to ice cream, he literally always knows the exact right material selection to complement any space. Often described as the “heart of the Deck Store team”, Stan works closely with all departments to coordinate project installs and order materials, while assigning and directing builders to obtain maximum efficiency. He also likes to periodically re-live the old days of getting in the trenches, and can often be found in tandem with the Build teams and Terry Fangrad (The Deck Store Founder and President), on job sites across the GTA…or at their favorite breakfast spot in Oakville.

“I get a kick out of helping others fulfill their dreams whether it be finding the right fit for employment or position within a company, connecting like minded people within a network, or improving someone’s lifestyle by providing the right materials for their project or designing an outdoor space that exceeds their expectations.”

Stan lives with his lovely wife Sheri and their 4 children on a rural property in Hamilton, and enjoys cutting his grass (it is 4.5 acres, so is more chore than hobby really), driving around on his ATV, or out on his snowmobile in the winter months. His evenings allow him to spend time with his family, as well as watching his favorite sports teams play (the Leafs or the Blue Jays, depending on the season).
